Chers amis,

Contre notre volonté, le programme concernant «Artransgénique», qui devait se dérouler du 19 au 25 juin, se trouve modifié. Une décision injustifiable nous prive de la présence de Bunny GFP, le lapin transgénique fluorescent que nous comptions présenter aux Avignonnais et à l'ensemble des personnes intéressées par les évolutions actuelles des pratiques artistiques.
Malgré cette censure déguisée, l'artiste Brésilien Eduardo Kac, auteur de ce projet, sera parmi nous et présentera sa démarche ainsi que l'ensemble de ses travaux.
Un débat public permettra d'ouvrir une large réflexion sur les transformations du vivant opérées par les biotechnologies, tant dans les domaines artistiques et juridiques, qu'éthiques et économiques.

Nous nous élevons de toute évidence contre le fait qu'il soit interdit aux citoyens d avoir accès aux développements scientifiques et culturels qui les concernent si directement.

Rendez-vous le 22 juin 2000 pour un débat public au Grenier à Sel, à 18h 30.

Le 24 juin 2000, AVIGNONumérique pour son départ du Grenier à Sel, va présenter durant cette journée les différents travaux réalisés durant les mois de Mai et Juin: performances, chantiers technologiques, concerts, chorégraphies, ainsi qu'un certain nombre d'activités présentes actuellement dans le lieu; les dispositifs interactifs de Pavel Smetana, de Pascal Silondi, de Peter Sainclair et GH Hovagymian ainsi qu'une conférence de Douglas Edric Stanley sur ses travaux.
AVIGNONumérique continue ses actions dans les quartiers et sera de retour au mois de septembre pour les projets européens Café9 et Technomade.

Nous vous demandons de nous envoyer votre propre image de Lapin GFP, vert, rose ou bleu, grand ou petit, comme vous voulez... Nous ferons une exposition de toutes les images dans le Grenier un Sel et sur notre site Web pour la conclusions des débats.

GFP BUNNY DENIED OF VISIT

Against our will, the program relating to Artransgénique, which was to be held from 19 to June 25, is modified.
An unjustifiable decision deprives to us of the presence of Bunny GFP, the fluorescent transgenical rabbit which we intend to present to Avignonnais. In spite of this disguised censure, the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kac, author of this project, will be among us and will present his step as well as the whole of his work.
A public discussion will make it possible to open a broad reflexion on the transformations of alive operated by biotechnologies, as well in the fields artistic and legal, as ethical and economic.
We protest obviously against the fact that it is forbidden to citizens to have access to the scientific and cultural developments which relate to them so directly.

We ask you to send us your own GFP Bunny picture, make it green, pink or blue, tall or little, as you want... we'll make an exhibition of all pictures in the Grenier a Sel and on our website with the debate conclusions.
